Geoff Spain
Biography
Geoff worked in rep. theatres for over fifteen years, including Ipswich, Milford Haven, Colchester and Bristol. During that time he designed the lighting for well over 100 professional productions ranging from Three Sisters to Oleanna, Hamlet to Carousel and Noises Off to The Railway Children. Freelance designs have included the UK premieres of Sondheim’s Saturday Night (Bridewell Theatre), the musical Two By Two, and the regional premieres of Into The Woods and Aspects of Love (Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich). Other designs include The Thickness of Skin (The Royal Court, Upstairs), The Spirit of Dance (JazzXchange, The Place), The Rise and Fall of Little Voice (Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich), All My Sons (Oxford Stage Company, national tour), Cheeky Chappie (Haymarket, Basingstoke), Ain't Misbehavin' (The English Speaking Theatre, Frankfurt), David Copperfield (Eastern Angles, regional tour), The Secret Garden, The Railway Children and Silver Sword (Nottingham Playhouse), Our Country’s Good (Trestle Arts Base) and Dick Whittington (Palace Theatre, Watford). Geoff is now the Technical Co-ordinator of the Snape Maltings Concert Hall in Suffolk.
