Biography
Recent lighting credits include: Rigoletto for Iford Arts Festival; Il Pastor Fido for The London Handel Society and RCMIOS; Don Giovanni for Opera Faber; Die Dreigroschenoper, Hansel Und Gretel, La Calisto, The Rape of Lucretia, Albert Herring, Cosi Fan Tutte and many other productions for Royal Academy Opera; Carmen for ENO Baylis; Macbeth and Acante et Cephise for UCO Opera; Don Giovanni for Amersham Festival of Music.
For the Royal Academy of Music; Sets of Vocal Faculty Opera Scenes with directors including John Ramster, John Copley, David Edwards, Mark Hathaway, Mike Ashamn, Rob Kearley; Royal Academys Musical Theatre Showcase; Peter Maxwell Davis Festival including Missa super l'Homme Arme and Schoenberg's Pierrot Lunaire; Johnny Berliner and Ramsu Orchestra (Dukes Hall) Maxim Vengerov's Ferdinand the Bull and Tango from Yusupov's concerto.
Jake has lit extensively for Tigco Productions including the critically-acclaimed Tuesdays (Albany); Plat du Nuit (London, Norwich, Edinburgh); Square Balls (Canal Cafe, Hen and Chickens); Sword of Maximum Damage (Albany, Wimbledon Studio and Underbelly Edinburgh) , Victor (Pleasance Edinburgh), And the critically acclaimed Alpha Males (Wimbledon, Edinburgh)
Fringe Credits include: Nudge for Underhand Productions (Canal Cafe Theatre, Pleasance London, Cockpit Theatre and Edinburgh); Shamlet (Canal Cafe, Edinburgh); Swallow for Wicked Theatre (Edinburgh Fringe First nominee); Lucky Stiff (Canal Cafe); The Consultants (Perrier Award winner 2002) Gary le Strange (Perrier Award winner 2003);The Bing Show (canal and Edinburgh) and NewsRevue (2000 - 2003, including the 25th anniversary Guiness World Record gala Performance)
As Technical Theatre Manager for RAO and RAM, Jake has overseen all technical aspects of the Academys recent productions including Kommilitonen! A Night at the Chinese Opera, Cendrillon, Dardanus, il mondo della luna, Into the Woods, La finta giardiniera, Magic Flute, Figaro, and Sweeney Todd. In 2008 Jake designed the archetectual lighting of the exterior of The Royal Academy of Music on Marylebone Road, london.
