John Riddell
Biography
John is a freelance Lighting Designer and Production Manager. Originally from Belfast, John spent several years as Technical Manager and Lighting Designer in Residence at the Lyric Theatre. He still lights there from time to time and has over thirty design credits. John also worked with many of Northern Ireland's leading companies including Tinderbox, Kabosh, Ransom and Prime Cut.
John has lived in Glasgow since 2003. Having spent a year as Construction Manager at Scottish Opera, John is freelance again and has worked for many companies including Scottish Youth Theatre, RSAMD, National Theatre of Scotland, The Comedy Unit, Giant Productions and as a freelance for Scottish Opera.
John also regularly lights showcase performances for Pineapple Performing Arts School in London at venues as diverse as The Mermaid, The Shaw, The Bridewell and The Place.
John lives in the southside of Glasgow with his wife Angela, son Toby and three-legged Border Collie, Kia.
